Recent significant advances in science and technology

The latest advances in science and technology are known and always in sight. But people tend to forget how far we’ve come in science and technology in a relatively short period of time.

In the 1870s, there was the first house to be lit with electricity. Cars began to be available 100 years ago, with the first transatlantic flight in 1927. Televisions became widely available after the Second World War.
In other words, the progress made by humanity in a relatively short period of time thanks to Edison, Bell, Tesla, Einstein, Franklin, Salk, the Wright brothers and many others.

People tend to simply adapt to these incredible significant inventions without realizing how completely our world has been changed in a short amount of time.

It’s worth looking back at some of the amazing recent advances in science and technology that humans have made

Mobile phones

Telephones have been around since about the late 19th century, but the first cell phones began to be available in the seventies. Today, it is estimated that more than 5 billion people worldwide have mobile phones. It is considered one of the most important recent advances in science and technology.
Artificial heart

There is nothing more interesting than life. The implantation of an artificial heart in humans in 1982 was an extraordinary step towards increasing human life, even if the original patient only lived 112 days. Even for one day, more advanced versions of artificial organs will likely allow us to live much longer, more productive lives.

Personal Computer in science and technology

Тoday, we take for granted that we have a machine that allows us to access the Internet, process text, use a calculator, watch TV and play games, but the personal computer became widely available to consumers in 1974. Microsoft Windows became available in 1985, and without the prevalence of personal computers, the Internet would not have had such a big impact.

Flight into space and the first communications satellite

In 1961, Gagarin’s space flight opened a new era, and in 1962 the first satellite capable of sending and receiving data was sent into orbit. Today we use GPS, TV, radio, weather tracking, military surveillance, space and global communications from satellites, among other things.

Moon landing

The first man landed on the moon in 1969, a feat that was so fantastic that there are still theorists claiming that it couldn’t be possible. The flight to the moon opened the door to future space travel and led to a number of spin-off inventions, including fire-resistant textiles used by firefighters, invisible braces, improved satellite dishes, and better medical imaging.

Internet World Wide Web

ARPANET (the first Internet) was invented in 1969 and presented to the public as the World Wide Web since 1993. Today, more than 20 years later, the web has revolutionized the dissemination of news, created a new economic phenomenon worth many trillions of dollars, and plays a role in revolution and interconnection throughout much of the globe.

Microchip in science and technology

The predecessor of the transistor, as the most important invention of the 20th century, and further, the microchip was invented back in 1959, but it really began to be used in the 1980s. Because then, incredible advances in microcircuits made it possible to use cheaply and efficiently in calculators, personal computers, identification systems, ATM machines, satellites, pacemakers, mobile phones and microwave ovens, and many, many other products. This invention of the century belongs to the category of the latest achievements of science and technology.
